Account Changes

As part of our forthcoming February update, we'll be making some changes with how accounts work.

Goodbye, Usernames

One of the biggest changes is the removal of usernames in favor of email-only sign in (previously, you could sign in either way). Why?

  • Easier, streamlined sign in and registering. The new authentication process makes it easier for players to register, sign in, or reset their password as appropriate.
  • You can't forget your email. Many players visit organization sites infrequently and emails are harder to forget.
  • One less field when joining.
  • Technical reasons. Email-only verification works better with our next unified account system (see below).

Share Accounts Across Sites

You can now use your account across multiple TopScore sites! Many partners wanted to run separate youth sites or event sites on unique domains. While there's still more work to be done in sharing information across sites, account sharing is here today!

Here's how it works:

  • If you have an account on any TopScore site, you can now sign in to any TopScore site with that account.
  • If you update your account information on any site, it will update that information on all sites.
  • If you're a member of multiple organizations, you can control what organizations can manage your information on your account screen.
  • Owners of other sites can only see information about you if you've signed in to that site.
